Frequently Asked Questions
Things are not always what they appear from the outside...
How long are the tours?
Generally all our tours are in a range of 1-1/4 hours. The actual
time will vary depending on the pace of the group. Sometimes tour
operators want a shorter tour to fit into their schedule. We can
tailor the length of the tour for groups of 15 or more.
Is the walking difficult?
Our Inside Historic Hollywood Tour is gentle walking and suitable for seniors. Our downtown tours are easy but require a little more exertion as there are a few small hills and stairs.
Where does the bus go?
Red Line Tours conducts walking tours so buses are not normally used. We do offer a special Hollywood Movie Star Experience tour package with Sony Pictures Studios and Starline Tours that includes our Hollywood Behind-the-Scenes Tour , Starline's Star Homes Tour, a specially created VIP tour of Sony Pictures Studios and a tour of Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive. Transport to and from your hotel is also included in this package. For more information e-mail us and ask about our Hollywood Movie Star Experience. Click here for more information on the Hollywood Movie Star Experience.
Can you pick us up from the hotel?
Our regular walking tour program does not include hotel pick-up, however , if you plan on booking a group of 15 or more we will be glad to begin the tour from your hotel (if your hotel is proximate to the tour route - please call for information). Our Hollywood Movie Star Experience includes a pick up from your hotel. Call or e-mail us if you would like more information on group sales or the Hollywood Movie Star Experience.
How long are the tours?
Generally all our tours are in a range of 1-hour and 20-minutes. The actual time will vary depending on the pace of the group. Sometimes tour operators want a shorter tour to fit into their schedule. We can tailor the length of the tour for groups of 15 or more.

You must first must be willing to investigate...
Are your tours handicapped accessible?
Generally yes. However we are at the effect of the city, its sidewalks, weather and terrain. Our Hollywood Behind-the-Scenes Tour is conducted mainly at ground level with few if any barriers. We do encounter some stairs and small hills on our Inside Historic Downtown LA Tour and our Inside Contemporary Downtown LA Tour. One should note that the pace of our tours cannot be slowed as we are bound to time constraints. If you or a member of your group has a handicap it would be best to speak with a member of the Red Line Tours staff before you decide to take the tour.
Are multilingual translations available for your tours?
Currently we offer our tours in English only, however , through the use of our "Live-Audio" system we can offer the tour in other languages simultaneously for groups of 15 or more. We have plans, in the future, to offer our tours in Japanese, French, German and Spanish on a regular basis for walk-in customers. Call us for more information.
What if it rains?
Poor weather is rare in Los Angeles. Tours are conducted rain or shine, however we will offer a rain check for another date in case of heavy rain - it almost never happens.
Where do I park?
In Hollywood there is a surface parking lot immediately behind our tour center in the Stella Adler Academy & Theatres. Enter the Prestige Parking lot off Highland Ave. just north of Hollywood Blvd. There is also plenty of parking in the Hollywood & Highland shopping and entertainment center next door. Tour buses can park in preferential parking spaces on McCadden Pl. just steps from our entry or they can also park in the Hollywood & Highland center.
In Downtown there is plenty of parking for cars
and buses in the surface lot across the street from our tour center
in the Bradbury Building at the corner of 3rd and Broadway.
...before you can ever discover the true beauty.
The Bradbury Building is our home in Downtown Los Angeles. Whether you're a local or visitor, come and investigate a whole new world of beauty and imagination in Downtown LA. The City is Our Museum!
